Class: Three-Dimensional Design Professor: Kevin O'Callaghan
Marie Claire magazine partnered up with The School of Visual Arts’ 3D Design Department for an accessories-themed exhibition on Madison Avenue. The students were asked to turn everyday objects from different decades within the last one hundred years into fashion accessories that emulate the essence of the specific era the object belonged to. For my project, I was assigned a small, antique chandelier. Taking inspiration from Burlesque and Flapper dancers from the late 1920s, I deconstructed the chandelier and turned into a showtime headpiece, a bag and body jewelry. All three pieces were on display in a glass case on 58th street and Madison Avenue, from October through November 2018.
